I've lived in Australia, the USA, and the UK When I lived in the Yorkshire Dales in the UK, I traveled all over Europe including researching my Viking roots in Jutland as well as finding cousins still living on the family farm on the Isle of Oland overlooking the Baltic Sea. When I grew up in Southern CA (Hacienda Heights) and Northern CA (Contra Costa County), went to University in Butte County, CA and worked in Santa Clara and Orange Counties in the USA...I traveled to over 20 States. When I lived in Australia, I traveled all over New Zealand, Tasmania (Hobart, Bruny Island), Australia (Melbourne, Adelaide/Kangaroo Island, Darwin, Perth/Rott Nest Island/Fremantle/Margarette River, Sydney, Uluru (see photo), and The Gold Coast/Brisbane for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. I was hoping to find a wife whilst Down Under but was unsuccessful in that endeavor. Closest I came was a nice lady from Melbourne. She used to laugh at the way I said Melbourne--like Jason Bourne’s had a secret brother Mel Bourne whereas she'd cut half the letters out of it and just call it “Melbin" I quite liked my years in Australia and the Aussies: We're like long, lost siblings that broke away from the same overbearing parent in our own unique way. The analogy for the Brits and Americans is more like an older and younger brother growing up in the same family. But sometimes the younger brother is bigger than the older brother when both reach full maturity when both reach full-grown adulthood. But the older brother does not like the change of looking up to the younger brother so puts the younger, bigger brother down a lot......not that having a larger military or economy necessarily makes a people or country better. Paul Hogan summed things up quite nicely when interviewed on US TV when I was really young. He was asked what he thought of the three countries [paraphrasing]: "The Brits all about a class system; they're always trying to figure out where each other fits in the class system, try to figure out who is higher in the class system. On the other hand, while you lot ( Americans} were putting a man on the Moon, we [Aussies] were hanging out on the beaches of Sydney trying to figure out if we had enough zinc oxide on our noses.” I witnessed in person or on the news a fair amount of soccer hooligan violence in the UK too that I did not see in Australia. I’ll take the Aussies over the Brits any time. Didgeridoo! My big regret was not traveling to Thailand and other nearby Asian countries when I lived in Australia since it was so much closer than the USA or UK but a 2016 Outback hiking accident and subsequent knee surgery and long-term disability whilst I recovered greatly curtailed my time to travel. Then I was Medevac'd from Australia to the USA for back surgery 10 months later in 2017 for 10 weeks... However, after recently moving to the USA from Australia, I have met some recent lady immigrants from Thailand...and Vietnam and China and am quite taken with their hearts, culture, beauty, and femininity. Met a beautiful Chinese lady from Yantai that I was quite taken with but she was more interested in me joining her life insurance business than me as a husband:( But from the first moment I met her it was like a light bulb went on for my attraction to Asian women. And this experience also made me realise why China is the most populous country in the World—it’s their beautiful women! And Little Saigon is 3 miles from my house--the largest concentration of Vietnamese people outside Vietnam itself. I've meet so many beautiful Vietnamese women. I have not had the honor to run into very many Korean ladies that I know of but have been quite taken with YouTube drummers Ami Kim and A-YEON as well as North Korean refugee Yeonmi Park. And lately, I've met some really nice nurses from the Philippines at my mother's retirement community. And my father served in the Philipines in the US Army. But the biggest regret of all was my little girl Molly (see photo) departing this world 3 weeks to the day after I moved from Australia to the USA when I thought I'd have a year or two to spend with her. That photo was taken the day after I moved to the USA when she was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney failure and we took her into the animal hospital to see if she could be cured. She responded well to the first treatment, was her old self for a week but then went downhill and we lost her 2 weeks later age 13.5 years to the day. I still miss her but as painful as it was to see, I am glad I was there for her final 3 weeks of life to say goodbye to her, for her to say goodbye to me and because my elderly Mum was not capable of taking care of her in her final three weeks. And I was there to support my Mum when life left Molly's body right in front of our eyes... What a welcome home--like getting shot in the face at point-blank range by a sawed-off shotgun. the moment I stepped foot on US soil. When a man reaches his 40s and is not blessed with any children, he finds other places for his instinctual fatherly love...until it is taken away...or something is given back... However, in 2017 I was medevac'd to the USA from Australia for emergency back surgery. There was no back surgeon in my Outback town. The nearest back surgeon was Adelaide. But by my health care insurance company decided I needed to have my surgery in the USA because my Mom and brother lived nearby and I needed to be able to travel back and forth to the doctor after surgery but I'm Single. That was a blessing because I got to spend 2 quality months with Molly when she was healthy. After landing at LAX from Sydney with jet lag, I took a Limo to my MUM's. My brother videotaped Molly seeing me for the first time in 16 months from her 2nd story sunroom where I'd always greet her from the sidewalk below. Would Molly remember me? Could she find me? See for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vhya5iehHOQ 2 months after this video was taken, after successful back surgery I returned to Australia for 6 months to finish off my 2-year contract, returned to the USA to nursemaid Molly's for her final 3 weeks on Planet Earth. I still think I let Molly down by relying way too much on prayer and not nearly enough second medical opinions beyond Molly's family Veterinarian or alternative treatments... But after being kicked around all over the planet like an unwanted soccer ball for 4 years, I'm back in my home 2 blocks from the beach in Surf City USA. For athletics, I played 5 years of baseball as a kid, 2 years of American Football, one year of Rugby and baseball in England and boxed in high school and University. I also engaged in bodybuilding and competed in US base and company bench press competitions with a career high of 350 pounds. Prior to screenwriting, I worked as a space systems engineer/scientist in England, Australia (where my main ChinaLove Cupid photo is from) and the USA. And since 17 of the Upper Division units I needed for my Bachelors Degree were Graduate Level units, I guess I can say I have half a Masters Degree since only 30 Graduate Level units are needed for a Master Degree…but I doth digress and pontificate as is my wont:) Nowadays, I go to the gym an hour a day, ride my bike along the beach bike trails that are 2 blocks from my house, work on my screenplays. May 2023--I lost my mother in Laguna Hills, CA USA:( September 22, 2023: the 12-minute film based on my screenplay "Flatline” is completed and successfully uploaded to the festival website. September 25, 2023—I went in for 9-hour back surgery on 4 vertebrae with incisions on half my back. They went at me through the stomach as well, moving aside the internal organs to get to the spinal cord.l.. I’m on the mend. Can’t go to the gym or ride a bike until May 2024 but am supposed to walk an hour a day which I do along the beach 2 blocks from my house.. October 2023—my film “Flatline” is nominated for 10 awards for the 168 film festival at Trilith Studios in Fayetteville, GA November 02-04. November 4, 2023—6 weeks after 9-hour back surgery, my surgeon gives me permission to fly back to Trilitrh Studios in Fayetteville, GA for the 168 film festival so long as I wear a back brace at all times. I require wheel chair assistance at the airport.
