So this is the section where I’m supposed to brag about how incredibly unique and awesome my life is right? Here is the place to show you how I’m that once in a lifetime guy who lives a spectacular lifestyle more akin to fiction than fact. I could most certainly do that. In the past I have rode elephants and fed tiger cubs with a bottle in Thailand. I did scuba dive in the crystal clear waters of Belize with sea turtles during the day and danced (okay, stumbled) the Punta with young and old women alike at night. I spent five weeks immersing myself in the culture and language of Korea at Sogang University and the only thing I can remember from it is the lifelong friends I made there. I have volunteered at women’s clinics and taught English to orphan’s in Peru. I am planning my next adventure to begin with Guinness in Ireland and end with Tomorrowland in Belgium. Sure, I could tell you about those things, but let’s be honest, that’s not who I get to be every day. The truth of the situation is that my day life is much tamer. I pay my bills on time, wear socks that match and clean underwear. I spend my mornings in exercise and meditation before I head off to work to lead my team of ten to handle the administrative and human resources needs of a company of over seven hundred personnel. At night I head home to cook myself a modest and healthy meal and study for medical school before I listen to a mythology, science, or history focused podcast before I drift to sleep. When work isn’t an issue I may spend my time with friends and family experiencing a new restaurant or brew, or I may look to get into a fight at my dojo before I go dirt biking, or I might just go to a Salsa lesson or study Spanish so I don’t immediately stand out as a gringo during my next trip to Latin America. I’ll admit though, there are times I’m perfectly content to stay in and watch a new movie or show.
