Three years ago, I came home from Vietnam, and not long after, doctors found a tumor in my colon the size of a tennis ball. Four surgeries followed, then six months of chemotherapy, long days and very quiet nights. When the words cancer free finally came, everything in me shifted. That season stripped away what did not matter and forced me to see how fragile this life really is. It slowed me down. It softened me. Now I wake up differently. I notice the small things, morning light through the window, a kind message from a friend, the simple gift of a steady breath. Each moment feels precious to me now. Not guaranteed. Just given. I travel often for my work in cargo security. Long days. It is meaningful work. It has shaped much of my life. But right now, my heart belongs to my writing. I am working on a novel called Thương. It tells the story of three souls who find each other across four lifetimes. It begins beside the Perfume River in the 1880s. It moves to Saigon in the 1940s. Then to Paris in the 1970s. And finally, it returns to the Perfume River in modern times. It is a story about connection. About memory. About love that does not disappear, even when form changes. Đó là công việc có ý nghĩa. Nó đã định hình phần lớn cuộc đời tôi. Nhưng lúc này, trái tim tôi thuộc về việc viết. Tôi đang viết một cuốn tiểu thuyết tên là Thương. Câu chuyện kể về ba linh hồn tìm thấy nhau qua bốn kiếp sống. Nó bắt đầu bên dòng sông Hương vào những năm 1880. Rồi chuyển đến Sài Gòn những năm 1940. Sau đó là Paris những năm 1970. Và cuối cùng, nó trở lại bên sông Hương trong thời hiện đại. Đó là câu chuyện về sự kết nối. Về ký ức. Về tình thương không biến mất, dù hình hài có thay đổi.
